Exercises to Banish Belly Fat for Men
Are you unhappy with your current weight and ready to banish your belly fat? In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, there are lots of exercises men can do to target belly fat. Try the following seven exercises designed to target your midsection! No matter your athletic ability, these basic workouts are great ways to start getting rid of that extra weight.
1. Plank
The first exercise you can do is a plank. This exercise involves holding yourself in an elevated pushup position. Planks work your entire core muscle groups, including the abdominals, back muscles, and even your glutes. To start, you need to lay down on your elbows and hold this position for 15 seconds. Gradually increase the time you are in this position, up to 45 seconds or a minute if possible.
2. Sit-Ups
You can also tighten the muscles in your core by doing sit-ups. To do this, you need to lay flat on your back with your feet resting firmly on the ground, and slowly lift yourself up while keeping proper posture, then lower down slowly. You should feel a slight tension in your core during these movements. Doing sit-ups can help strengthen the abdominal muscle groups that are crucial to having a flat stomach.
3. Bicycle Crunches
If regular crunches or sit-ups are becoming too easy, you can also use a bicycle motion to work out your ab muscles. To do this, sit up straight with your legs extended, then slightly lean back as you bend both of the legs until they are at about a 45-degree angle each. Then start doing crunches by bringing one elbow toward the opposite knee and alternating sides as you go.
4. Burpees
Another great exercise you can do to lose belly fat is burpees. To do a burpee, get into the pushup position, quickly jump your feet back toward your hands, and explosively jump up. If you want an even harder challenge, You should try doing as many of these as possible for 15 minutes straight.
5. Swimming
Swimming is another excellent exercise to get rid of belly fat. It’s a total body workout that works all your core muscles, including the abdominals and back. Swimming is an excellent way to burn calories because it uses energy from the entire body without putting too much strain on any one muscle group. Try going to a local pool and swimming laps for 30 minutes.
6. Weight Lifting
Lifting weights helps build muscle mass in the body and boosts metabolism. If it’s been a while since you’ve gone to a gym, try heading there for at least 30 minutes every day to do some squats, deadlifts, and bench presses.
7. HIIT Workouts
HIIT workouts are another great way for men to lose belly fat. HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training, where you are alternating between very intense bursts of activity with short breaks in between. For example, try running as fast as possible on a treadmill or outside, then walk at a slow pace until your heart rate comes down again. Repeat this cycle for 20 minutes to increase cardiovascular strength and burn calories faster than a traditional jog.
Staying active is the key to losing belly fat as quickly as possible. Whether you’re doing crunches, planks, or burpees every day, try mixing these exercises up with some HIIT workouts for even greater results!
There are so many exercises men can do to get rid of belly fat. The important thing is just sticking with it. It may be challenging initially, but seeing progress will motivate you more than ever and keep you going. It’s also good to have a healthy diet that cuts out unhealthy foods and excess sugar. Aim for lots of protein, veggies, and water every day instead!
